Welcome to VikeTrade.com (“VikeTrade,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). VikeTrade is a Maryland-based classifieds website designed primarily for high school students.

By accessing or using VikeTrade, you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the website.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or post a listing on VikeTrade.

If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you represent that you have permission from your parent or legal guardian to use VikeTrade and to enter into transactions permitted by applicable law.

People of any age may browse publicly available content on the website, subject to these Terms and applicable law.

2. About VikeTrade

VikeTrade provides an online platform where users can post items for sale and communicate with potential buyers.

VikeTrade is not the buyer or seller of items listed on the website and is not a party to transactions between users.

We do not take possession of, inspect, authenticate, guarantee, or otherwise assume responsibility for items listed by users.

Users are solely responsible for their listings, communications, transactions, and interactions with other users.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for providing accurate information when creating an account and for keeping your account information current.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity conducted through your account.

You may not create an account for another person without permission or use another person’s account without authorization.

You may delete your account at any time through the available account settings or by contacting us.

4. Listings

You may post listings only for items that you are legally permitted to sell or otherwise transfer.

You are responsible for ensuring that your listings are accurate and not misleading.

Listings should accurately describe the item, including its condition and any material defects that a reasonable buyer would want to know.

You must have the right to sell or transfer an item you list.

You may not use VikeTrade to post false, fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive listings.

We may remove or modify a listing that violates these Terms, applicable law, or our policies.

5. Prohibited Items and Activities

You may not use VikeTrade to offer, promote, or facilitate the sale or transfer of items or services that are illegal or prohibited by applicable law.

You may not use VikeTrade to:

• Commit or facilitate fraud, theft, or other illegal activity.
• Post deceptive or fraudulent listings.
• Sell stolen, counterfeit, or unlawfully obtained property.
• Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse another person.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
• Collect or solicit another person’s personal information for improper purposes.
• Distribute malware, spam, or other harmful material.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user’s account or to VikeTrade’s systems.
• Use VikeTrade for activities that violate the law or the rights of others.

VikeTrade may maintain additional rules or restrictions concerning particular categories of items.

6. Personal Information and Privacy

You should use care when deciding what personal information to include in a listing.

Information included in a public listing—including information contained in photographs, descriptions, or links—may be visible to other users and may become publicly accessible.

Do not post your home address, school schedule, passwords, financial information, or other sensitive personal information in a listing.

Your email address and telephone number are required to register but are not displayed publicly by default. You may choose to display them on your listings.

You may not post another person’s personal information without permission or use information obtained through VikeTrade for harassment, stalking, fraud, or other improper purposes.

7. Communications Between Users

VikeTrade may allow potential buyers to send inquiries to sellers through the website.

VikeTrade does not guarantee that a person who contacts you is who they claim to be.

Users are responsible for deciding what information to provide to another user and how to communicate with them.

VikeTrade is not responsible for communications that take place outside the website, including communications by telephone, email, text message, social media, or other services.

8. Transactions Between Users

All transactions are directly between buyers and sellers.

VikeTrade does not process or guarantee transactions unless we expressly state otherwise.

Before completing a transaction, users should independently evaluate the item, the other party, the proposed price, and the safety of the transaction.

Users should comply with all applicable laws relating to the purchase, sale, possession, and transfer of an item.

VikeTrade does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, authenticity, condition, ownership, or suitability of any item listed on the website.

9. Meeting Other Users

Users may choose to meet in person to complete a transaction.

VikeTrade does not arrange, supervise, or participate in these meetings.

We strongly encourage users to take reasonable safety precautions, particularly when meeting someone they first encountered online. Consider meeting in a public location, telling a parent, guardian, or trusted person about the meeting, and avoiding situations where you would be alone with someone you do not know.

Users under 18 should consider involving a parent or guardian in transactions and meetings.

10. Content You Post

You retain ownership of photographs, descriptions, and other content that you post on VikeTrade.

By posting content, you give VikeTrade a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate and promote the website and provide its services.

You represent that you have the rights necessary to post the content and that your content does not violate these Terms or the rights of another person.

You should not post photographs or other content containing another person’s private or sensitive information without appropriate permission.

11. Removal of Content

We may remove, disable, or restrict access to any listing, account, or other content if we believe it:

• Violates these Terms or applicable law.
• Is fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading.
• Creates a safety or security risk.
• Infringes another person’s rights.
• Is otherwise inappropriate for VikeTrade.

We may also suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly or seriously violate these Terms.

We do not have an obligation to monitor every listing or communication posted through VikeTrade.

12. Reporting Problems

If you believe that a listing, account, or user violates these Terms, applicable law, or creates a safety concern, please report it to us.

If you believe you are in immediate danger or that a crime is occurring, contact the appropriate emergency or law-enforcement authorities.

13. No Warranties

VikeTrade is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that:

• The website will always be available or operate without interruption.
• Listings or other information will always be accurate or complete.
• Listings will remain available.
• Users will behave honestly, safely, or lawfully.
• Transactions will be completed successfully.
• The website will be free from errors, viruses, or other harmful components.

Your use of VikeTrade is at your own risk.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VikeTrade and its owners, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or relating to your use of the website or your interactions or transactions with other users.

This includes, to the extent permitted by law, losses or injuries arising from items purchased or sold through VikeTrade, communications between users, meetings between users, fraudulent or unlawful conduct by users, or content posted by users.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

15. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless VikeTrade and its owners, employees, contractors, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising from:

• Your violation of these Terms.
• Your violation of applicable law or another person’s rights.
• Your listings or other content.
• Your transactions or interactions with other users.
• Your misuse of the website.

16. Intellectual Property

The VikeTrade name, website design, logos, software, text, graphics, and other materials provided by VikeTrade are owned by or licensed to VikeTrade and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Except as permitted by these Terms or applicable law, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or exploit VikeTrade’s proprietary materials without our prior written permission.

17. Account Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, remove your listings, or restrict your access to VikeTrade if you violate these Terms, applicable law, or our policies, or if we reasonably believe that doing so is necessary to protect users, VikeTrade, or others.

You may stop using VikeTrade at any time.

When an account is deleted or terminated, provisions of these Terms that by their nature should continue to apply may remain in effect, including provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification.

18. Changes to VikeTrade

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of VikeTrade at any time.

We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.

Your continued use of VikeTrade after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except to the extent that applicable law requires otherwise.

Any dispute concerning these Terms or your use of VikeTrade will be subject to the applicable courts located in Maryland, unless applicable law requires a different forum.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.

21. Entire Agreement

These Terms and the VikeTrade Privacy Policy constitute the agreement between you and VikeTrade concerning your use of the website, except for any additional terms that we expressly provide for particular services or features.
